Flow Pants

Flow pants are worked from the top down in the round. The mesh stitch is very stretchy, providing ease and flexibility to the pants. It is important to try on the pants at various stages of knitting to ensure a comfortable fit. Due to the stretchiness, you can create a different style by going one size up or down. An elastic band is threaded into the waistband fold to adjust the waist to a comfortable snugness. The elastic band also helps to keep the pants securely in place.

The person in the picture has a waist circumference of 75 cm / 29.5” and is wearing size 1 pants. The pants are knitted in the color White.

Gauge: 23 sts x 34 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch in the round with 3 mm (US 2.5) needles AND approx. 11 sts = 10 cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch in the round with 10 mm (US 15) needles (This is only needed to determine the larger needle size if there is a need to change the needle size.)

Tip: Choose a smaller needle size to achieve the recommended gauge, especially in the stitch direction. If you change the smaller needle size, check if you need to also change the larger needle size.

Needles: Circular needles 3 mm (80 – 100 cm) / US 2.5 (32 – 40”) and 10 mm (40 and 80 – 100 cm / US 15 (16” and 32 – 40”) (Or just a long circular needle if using the magic loop technique)
Yarn: Vuonue Toivo (100 g = 180 m / 197 yds): 300 (300) 400 (500) 600 (800) 900 (1100) g or 375 (490) 655 (845) 1060 (1300) 1515 (1840) m / 415 (540, 720, 925, 1160, 1425, 1600, 2015) yds of a similar weight cotton or cotton blend yarn. The given meterages / yardages include approx 15 % of buffer for making a proper swatch
Other materials: Two stitch markers, one of which is removable, waste yarn, a tapestry needle, and 1.5 cm wide elastic band according to your waist circumference.
